Sunday 3 May, 1pm - 4pm

Gaoler Jock likes his job. Not only does he get to lock up the town's miscreants, but doubling-up as the Town Crier of the Canongate (and thus increasing his earnings) he likes nothing better than to bellow in the street the names of those offenders and the details of whatever it is that they have done. Are YOU one of the guilty and facing a night in the cells or WORSE? Come along and hear stories of the famous Town Criers of Edinburgh.

Free and drop-in, no need to book.

Open Streets in Edinburgh temporarily open streets to people by closing them to cars.

Open Streets seeks to help to increase public exploration, use and awareness of the connected areas in the old town.  We are delighted that our four Royal Mile venues are participating with a series of free lively events.
